I don’t. I just suffer through it until either something (like work) distracts me well enough to stop paying attention, or I go to sleep and stop being conscious

I let myself be sad. I think about things which made me sad, listen to sad music, read sad stories etc. Sometimes it makes me cry. Sadness goes away pretty fast. I believe that’s because I don’t push myself.

It’s crucial to understand that sadness is a normal feeling and one should accept it. Unless you are said every day no matter what.

Try getting busy. Not necessarily work, it can also be sport, house chores, or even reading. Being busy can help distract you from whatever makes you sad. You’ll eventually think about that thing again that makes you sad, but spending some time on something else may help you look at it differently (if you’re lucky you might get some ideas on how to fix that thing).

If sadness is a recurring thing, it’s always good to talk to a physician or a psychologist. In places where it’s (too) expensive, there might be a non-profit or a program that can help get some access to a doctor. Everyone struggle at one point in their life, and these people are there if you want a bit of help.
