You know who would have been great in Smile 2? This guy.

I was/am genuinely shocked. I realize my bile is a form of gatekeeping, but I can’t help myself. I watched it, having no prior knowledge of it, formed an opinion, went to IMDb and was in disbelief.
I have three kids, one teen and two pre-teens and I’m REALLY familiar with Disney-style acting. There was a LOT of it in Smile 2.
Is your mother’s name MARTHA?
I guess I was looking for a horror movie. You know, something scary. There was nothing scary about this movie (jumpscares excluded). Those dancers in her room, moving toward her with smiles on their faces? What the hell was that? That was the most high-school production value (with professional dancers I’m sure) scene I’ve ever seen in a horror movie. The “twists” in this movie were always pointless. There were HUGE blocks of time dedicated to scenes that didn’t add anything to the narrative or backstory or tension or anything.
Such indulgent schlock. Disney does “real” horror.
According to Bankrate’s analysis of BLS data, consumer prices have jumped 22.1% since February 2020.
So we’ll give YouTube’s asshole-ness credit for the other 78%.
Longlegs. Weak. Not worst but maybe, biggest disappointment?
I also wondered, is Lee dead after the phone message and he just fantasies the rest? I’m guessing the director left that up to interpretation.
Updated the post if you want to see
The kids came home and I put them to bed. I wanted to finish but I was tired and it was almost an hour so I decided on an intermission.
Okay, I like music and musicals. I’ve known every song so far. 1:14 in.
The veteran I met today, in the post.
It’s interesting that the link you posted indicates the purple hearts he received were probably part of the surplus manufactured in WWII, in anticipation of the losses the expected in the invasion of Japan, which never happened.
Thank you for kindly bringing my attention to that error. It was a very important point and I’m glad I was able to correct it.
We ought to get rid of that minus one time zone - nobody’s using it.
Actually I think I don’t understand the concept. I think some of the guys in the other time zones might be using the minus one but be wrong.
Damn this is confusing.
I appreciate your reasonable response. I feel I have not matched your energy.
No. I didn’t. I guess if that was required I missed my chance. Not bothered.
Avatar. James Cameron’s avatar. I still can’t believe anyone watch that movie and was engaged. It was as ridiculous a concept as I’ve ever seen and as non-immersive a movie as I’ve ever experienced.
Special effects or not it was nothing but a big overblown cartoon. I felt like I was living through a real life The Emperor’s New Clothes.
7.3 on IMDb. I don’t remember much about it but I remember watching it and liking it except for the ending. The ending was a total wreck and made the entire movie a waste of time. I guess that’s why some people were looking for a sequel.
Did you dislike it because you had a reference and it didn’t live up to it or did you just dislike it as a movie?
THERE MAY BE OTHER HENGES!
