Girlfriend and I are going to Vegas again for 3 days (we went last month too). I don’t gamble or drink, but she does and she’s got the money for it, so it’s fun to watch. I like the vibe in Vegas, so people watching is awesome there.
Socialist Mormon Satanist. Socialist Workers Party Kopimist. Debt-free. Alcohol-free. Drug-free. Caffeine-free. Work-free. Over 45,000 downvotes hurled at me for refusing to kneel and vote for the capitalist Duopoly. Despite the attempts to silence me, I’m still here. I won’t be stopped.

Studied/learned more Esperanto. Wrote more short stories. Worked on a little craft book nook. Studied/learned more math. Started my own Lemmy instance. Started a new rowing program. Worked out. Did my “one mile a day” runs (trying to do it for 365 days straight). Put up floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in my living room. And started learning sign language with my girlfriend.
Keep writing. As the late GREAT Ed Wood said: “Keep writing. Your story may not get better, but your writing will.”
This is truth!
Source: I’m retired and I finance my living expenses through earnings from my fiction stories, not from my pension. :)
All great, interesting points. Thank you for that!
Depends on how “old” you think is old. I turned 55, and I use to think 35 was “getting old.”
But that’s not old. But you are NEVER to old to change your life. I didn’t get my first degree until last year at age 54.
I was able to retire last month. So even tho 55 sounds old, in retirementland, it’s young.
Write your own story, be the hero of your story, regardless of age. Fuck ageism.
Unless it’s politics. Fucking politicians need to stop being politicians at age 60!
Agreed with almost every single part of your post. I have done the same thing for last few years. BUT I’m growing my hair out now that I’m retired and I am gonna be a hippie. Still use the beard trimmer daily tho!
I feel this. I prefer desktop for almost all of my posting and reading online. I only use phone when I am out and about.
Love this!
Carl Kolchak, of course! Also, now that I’m retired, this is gonna be my new outfit every day. :)
Love it!
