The people in charge are, genuinely, not human. They don’t have basic reasoning skills nor the human experience that label requires. A decapitated chicken could make better decisions than the average suit, the suit just has enough money to force it.

The other interview did suggest consoles are the problem. It’s wild to me that real developers are putting effort into those things, literally no one owns a PS5 still and the xbox is basically worthless. They’d have a better excuse to put stalker onto the switch than those ancient relics. Hopefully they get abandoned soon and the developers put all their effort where it matters.

The infected humans are just humans with an infection, not some mystical transcendent creatures. It’s not about death or the afterlife, it’s about religion and blind faith. They aren’t driven by need once they quench their thirst, they are driven by religious ferver. they decide to die with ‘dignity’ once they’ve realized they can’t escape the sun or their actions.
