I’m not trying to tell you how to live your life. That would be a waste of time and effort. I am, simply, providing suggestions.
I gotta ask, have you tried talking to a doctor? Self medicating can seriously mess you up. Not that doctors are flawless, but just shoving random chemicals in you and hoping for the best is worse.
I’m not sure where the general distrust is coming from in the medical field. My wife is a registered nurse and she cares about people. I studied health at the university level because I care about people. So many people dedicate their entire lives in order to help others and, yet some will turn to unfounded and ridiculous claims from snake oil con men and the general ignorant public?

Based on what I’m reading here I would suggest seeing either a psychologist or a psychiatrist. It’s quite possible that you could discover a way to deal with your problems without using prescription drugs.

You’re not wrong, but you’re not much different than doctors when you try to hide the symptoms of an underlying issue with substances. I support self-treatment, but when this involves medication and chemical subtances then it’s a shit decision.
If this is what you want take some advice from experts. Either way what you really need is therapy.
Just before you discard cannabis, are you aware there are a plethora of breeds, including distinct species, and their chemistry is quite detailed.
Reason I mention it, the stereotypical stoner behaviour…
- Stupid
- Slow
- Lazy
…are most commonly associated with the Indica species, and indica-dominant hybrids. And especially, are associated with plants which have been grown for profit (ie. quantity over quality).
Whereas a carefully grown Sativa species, or Sativa-dominant hybrid, can be extremely cerebral and stimulating. More typically associated with:
- Motivation
- Joy, happiness
- Creativity
[And at very high doses
- Psychedelic
- Sometimes paranoia (usually considered a negative side effect)]
Even a carefully grown Indica can have quite different net effects from some horribly commericalised grown indica.
To say nothing of the different bio-chemistry of varying methods of administration [stereotypical effects are associated with smoking (often with tobacco), whereas there are multiple oral routes (oils, foods, tinctures) and vaporizing etc].
Cannabis may simply not be for you, but I mention it’s versatility and complexity since unfortunately this information is not as common knowledge as it should be imo.

I’m not here to answer your question (though TBF most of the other commenters didn’t answer it either) but I’d like to ask you about burnout.
I find that in times where there is a lot going on, both at work and at home, I am multi-tasking all day, juggling many so many different urgent jobs that I can’t think about any of them, think about what I am doing now or doing next, or think at all.
When go to bed I have fought many fires, but have accomplished nothing, and still have just and many frustrating jobs waiting for the next day. After several days of this I am continuously anxious and irritable. My mind is a fog.
Is this burnout?
What helps? Writing down all the jobs in a list and going through them sequentially. Just refuse to do anything not urgent or that someone else can do. But any job that takes less than 5 minutes just do immediately without even writing it down.
Taking a 20 minute nap. Sometimes that doesn’t help, so sit alone in a dark room for as long as it takes for the mind to clear.
Prolonged intense exercise helps. So does spending time in a new place. Talking socially with other people. Maybe drugs, but for me neither beer nor spirits help at all.
But these solutions all consume time. So you need to get through all the jobs first. When you reach the end, you have enough free time to do those things. To heal your mind after the burnout.
I second the advice of @suspended and urge you to seek advice from medical professionals. My background’s in biochemistry and I advise you to at least exhaust all medical avenues available to you before approaching self-medication, which is the last resort of only the most desperate.
I’ve been down this road myself. Its long, frustrating and seems utterly pointless and in my personal experience a lot of it genuinely was! A lot of the medications they’ll put you on will be a bust, assuming you get that far at all. But be it SSRIs like citalopram, sertraline or some other form of anti-depressant or anti-psychotic, you should at the very least still eliminate these possibilities before resorting to what you’re asking for. The effects of meds on an individidual’s personal biochemistry are slippery; there are no absolute guarantees of things working like they’re supposed to. This is why its so important that the process is overseen by trained professionals with a full record of what you’ve had and what your response is, so that they may adjust accordingly or intervene in the event of an unforeseen development that puts your immediate or long term health in jeopardy.
What you ultimately decide to do is up to you alone, but please at least consider what me and @suspended are saying. We’re telling you this out of concern for your own wellbeing.

I definitely rate spironolactone a solid 2/10. made all my connective tissue problems worse, couldn’t sweat for the life of me, and barely didn’t do what I was taking it for. can’t get high from it either

Be careful with ketamine (i mean, be careful with all drugs). But ketamine has it’s risks, as you probably noticed motor function impairment can become pronounced.
High doses can render you unconcious, during which there is a risk eg. associated nausea could lead to vomiting, ie. potential airway obstruction. If there’s a risk of going under (khole) always lay on your side with head & neck supported (never on your back or stomach) & ideally have a sitter.
Can also be fatal when mixed with other drugs, check erowid.org etc for dangerous combos
