Trying to be nice. I really dislike the Reddit style aggressive comments. If you are rude I will block and ban you.
I’m not sure I know what this means :O
I wish that’s what it was
I mean this as nice as possible: you can type up a mini essay about your feeling and situation in a semi normal fashion but you reply to your friends as if you want to express you dislike them or are trying to annoy them. What else is there to say? How many posts do you need to make?
Either that or just include a linkable list in the sidebar of each com.
Don’t let secular Buddhists hear you 0_o
Thanks for sharing! :)
I’m running two small communities at
!buddhism@lemmy.selfhostcat.com (my own instance)
If you would like to start running religion focused communities we can create a religion network. Maybe call it “Lemmy Religions Network” or something. You may prefer larger instances but I would be happy to run something on my instance as well.
For a particular religion or just to discuss religion? I would be interested in hosting such a community :)
Yes, that’s what I meant. Thanks for explaining it better!
I guess my reply was coming from women typically find being called females odd, often by “incels,” so I thought males had the same tone. I didn’t mean weird in a rude way! You have a good point.
Using males to mean men is as weird as men who says females when they mean women.
Not always but frequently.
I originally found it really nice but in the past two month’s I have run into a lot of rude users. Best thing to do is to call them out, report them, then block and be done with it. This makes it a lot easier honestly. Most of the frequent users are nicer.
Well written!
Thanks, never seen that before
I’m only native to one language so obviously that but depending on the context and whose with me sometimes another language is easier for certain phrases and feelings. Translation truly is murder because the same word in English and Chinese can have wildly different meanings and feelings.
DAE?
I hope I wasn’t misleading but I am currently a PhD candidate, so on the final step towards getting my PhD.
My day is mostly writing, reading, then editing while playing with my cats, child, and partner on breaks :) and of course applying for money lol
I hope I wasn’t misleading but I am currently a PhD candidate, so on the final step towards getting my PhD. Since I am in academia and do conduct research I think it applies but I am not a professor yet. My field is Buddhist studies (Buddhologist). I work and am supported by my home university luckily.
Researcher/academic. Been an interesting path from high school :)
IDK what a federated website is. How would that be hosted.
